Feature Request : Ambient Occlusion

Hi,

This has surely has been requested in the past but it would be very nice to have a simple ambient occlusion "render?" In Moi.
It would make for enough realism for most illustration in my case and would be productive to do composite images with the pdf output.

It would save a lot of time reproducing the exact same camera in other 3d software, rendering, layering, etc...

Not sure how difficult it is to implement such a feature though, but it would be awesome.

Maybe the .fbx exporter could be helpful in the future. Usually .fbx contains also cameras or meta cameras (viewport) and there settings, so that you would simply then import into your DDC app as .fbx and render from there an Ambient Occlusion pass. Well, just a thought.

Hi Marc, I do want to have a simple built in renderer like you're describing. It won't be targeted at doing "photorealistic" renders but should be good for illustrations. I don't know yet when it will happen but I hope to be able to work on it in the v4 beta release timeframe.

It's going ok, the library that I want to use to help with it isn't quite set up how I needed things since it's mainly oriented around games but I think I've figured out how to modify it.
