Support for latest MacOS 10.12.5?

Does the current version of MoI run on MacOSX 10.12.5? As far as I know, it runs on 10.11/10.10/10.9/10.8/10.7/10.6, but we had a question from someone who wanted to know if and when the current version would be updated to support the latest, or whether that is something scheduled for V4.

Thanks very much in advance.

Hi J, yes the latest MoI version 3.1 for Mac will run on Sierra, just one note though due to a new security mechanism it won't run if you try to launch it directly from the Downloads folder, it has to be moved over into the /Applications folder for it to run.

That and several other quirks for the Mac version will be fixed in v4.

The person who asked me about this attempted this (after moving the app to the /Applications folder) but when they ran it they got the attached error. Is this something that needs manual permissions editing?

Hi J. , well that's the specific error that you'll get if it's run from the Downloads folder and isn't moved over to /Applications. Can you please ask them to double check the the actual MoI 3.1.app bundle has been moved over and they haven't done something like just made an alias to it?

It shouldn't normally need any permissions editing, although maybe that's possible if they have downloaded it on one computer or user account and then are running it on a different one. They may need to take ownership of the app in order for it to be able to write to its own Info.plist file. If possible ask them to download it from the same machine and user account where they intend to run it.
