I'd like to create a hollow tube that follows a curve and morphs from a rectangle at one end to a circle at the other. I could place cross-sections along the curve and invoke loft, but it's tricky getting the placement and orientations right. A combination of loft and sweep would be perfect. Is there such a thing?

Hi Involute, well Sweep can take multiple profile curves. It sounds like you want to do a sweep using 2 profiles, a circle on one side and a rectangle on the other. You can use "auto place" mode for the sweep by placing the 2 profiles flat on the construction plane and outside the bounding box of the path curve.
