Request for a "Gallery section" improvements

Hi Michael.

This is a non-urgent request.

Could you please add the chance to post comments in "Gallery" section of this web site ?

I think that, in this way, Gallery section could become much more "alive" and also the main forum could be freed up from the tons of posts
that we publish only in order to share ours renderings and WIPs.

What do you think about my request ?

Thanks.

Allowing comments in the gallery entries would allow for criticism. Not that critiques are bad, but I appreciate the fact that Moi3d's gallery sits as a simple testament to MoI's ease of use, even for design newbies, because they especially should feel pride for what they were able to create.
Plus, I bet that would add a level of complexity to the site.

Maybe a fair idea would be for someone to start a MoI3D group on DeviantArt, where you can post comments and be in effect a beacon to attract other (more art-centric) designers that would have never noticed Moi within their sphere of influence. That's not a bad idea, but we'd have to find someone willing to moderate.

Hi Mike K4ICY!

@You : "...That's not a bad idea, but we'd have to find someone willing to moderate...."

Hhmm....well....all in all, I agree with you.

Maybe Michael could find a smart solution to improve the "Gallery" section.

Thanks.

P.S. K4ICY I always remember with great pleasure your wonderful Moi tutorials!!
It is in fact thanks to your tuts that I began to really appreciate Moi and its unparalleled workflow.
Thanks again.

Bye.

Hi Marco, I guess the thing that would concern me is that once you make a place "alive" it also has to be monitored because various problems like flame wars and spammers also go along with that. So that might mean more work for me to do on an ongoing basis.

Maybe another possibility could be to have a "WIP" topic group in the forum.

Hi Michael.

OK. I understand.

@You : "...Maybe another possibility could be to have a "WIP" topic group in the forum..."

Yes. It's a simple and good idea.

I'm going to create this "WIP" section.

I hope that everyone want to use it to share all stuff related to showing personal works, renderings and WIPs.

Have a nice day.

It's not more simple to write WIP in the start title of each "Personnal Thread"
against a general thread who will be speedy enormous and very difficult to explore?

Hi Pilou.

@You : "...difficult to explore..."

Why difficult ?

I think that a WIP section should by not like every other topic in the forum, but instead a simple and easy container
where put all renderings and wips.

All in one place.

And if you want to make search you can always use the "search" feature of the forum with advanced mode.

Bye.

In the case of individual "WIP" thread
When an artist update something to its Wip, it's appears automatically on the head list!
So you know the name of the subject, so you know if you want to see it or not the progress!
That is not the case of a general "Thread"! ;)
Simple is beautiful! :)

Ok Pilou. No problem :)
As I said I much prefer "all in one place" but this is a very personal opinion.

If that newly created "WIP" group will be not used by anyone I will ask Michael to delete it from forum.
No problem at all :)

Have a nice day.
