SimLab Composer Pro

Hi
I recently purchased SimLab Composer and it works pretty well (almost great) with small architectural models. But it slows to a snails pace with a larger one I am working on. Next to unusable.
I have exported with .obj from MoI using medium density quads and triangles. It does not work with Composer for Rhino, either.
I have 16 gigs of RAM and two Nvidea Graphics Cards GT 640 and GT 670 and am running Windows 10 Pro.
Any suggestions?
thanks
eric

Try going to the driver settings and add simlab as a prigram and define the gpu to use.

Hi BurrMan

Sorry for my ignorance.
I got into my account with Nvidia and found the SimLab 8 folder but stalled there .. I don't have any idea which file to click on to set it up for the graphics card.
cheers,
eric

Hi eric.

Unfortunately, although Simlab is without doubt a very good product and very easy to use, it lacks many advanced features .

One of these is the GPU support.

From their web site : "...Composer, and optimally parallelized by taking advantage of all CPU cores available in the machine...."
and "...Fully CPU-based rendering..."

Read at : http://www.simlab-soft.com/technologies/simlab-rendering.aspx

So, no chance to speed up things by GPU. Only CPU support.

This is one of the reason I decided not to purchase a license.

Bye.

Hey marco,
But hes not talking about the rendering. He's talking about using it. And the computer dedicating the gpu to the app, WILL help him!

But, its still unclear, frenchys question needs an answer.

1 = 5 gb file? 16gb of ram will be woefully inadequate.

2 = 5 million poly's? Thats pushing his system pretty good. Probably could do some optimizing to make it usable...

Ok BurrMan. Thanks for the clarification.

I thought he was only talking about rendering.

Bye.
