Nsided almost gave me what I wanted but I couldn't get it right 100%. One edge had a weird bump. So I opted for a smaller fillet side like you suggested. I'm sure there is a million things wrong with my work to all the trained eyes here, but this is how it looks:
Hi OSTexo. I wanted to have a smoother transition from the center X shape to the sphere body of the drone. Any value beyond 0.145 causes fillets to overlap. The desired look is similar to this:
I'm still happy with what I could achieve with MoI. Learned a ton and I'm doing stuff which I haven't been able to do so easily in Cinema 4D. :) This is how my work looks with some quick texturing:
Here's also a quick look at how you can blend disparate shapes...
The end result STILL has some stresses in the surface, but I chose a pretty large gap. You could use smaller gaps to get better blends. I also used extreme values. where we went from .145 to 1!
Also, the starting shape, doesn't lend itself to "beautifully melted transforms". that shape could be adjust to get a more organic look, if that's what someone wanted.
Anyway, This was just an add.... your model looks good AS IS!
