Hi Zograf - MoI is developed using Visual C++, the main library it uses is the Solids++ geometry kernel from IntegrityWare.

There isn't really anything in MoI that makes especially good use of multiple cores for version 1.0 .

But I do plan on working on some stuff to take advantage of them in a future version. The first target will be to get display meshing working across multiple cores. That will probably be it for a while, but that affects a lot of things.

So if you have a choice of single-core or multi-core hardware, go for the multi-core.

Hi Michael,

Thank you very much for you answer.

As I understand MOI uses DirectX, this means only Windows, right ?

Does it matter what kind of video card is used, or any one will do it ?

thanks,
-t

Hi Zograf, yes that's correct MoI only runs on Windows (2000, XP or Vista).

MoI needs a card that has 3D graphics capabilities, but it does not really need anything very fancy. Pretty much any ATI or nVidia card from the past 5 years will do fine.
