Hi! I'm Francesco Venuti, yesterday I started a team of Windows lovers and developers without any scope of make money. We aimed about the passion to improve our OS

In the last year Windows 10 is improved a lot, for example today incorporate also a Linux Subsystem (WSL) and is oriented to an improved security.
Now Microsoft restart also the challenge of mobile, seems that they would change the concept of mobile computing (we saw a lot of movement in this period)...so not simply a smartphone, but real desktop experience that could run on ARM devices like tablets and smartphones (connected to a monitor); futhermore there is also holographic Platform, that could be interesting for mixed reality design (sketchup made a special version of his viewer: https://www.microsoft.com/it-it/store/p/sketchup-viewer/9nblggh4338q)

We saw the preview of "Windows Colud edition", this could be the next Windows edition for mobile. Unfortunately for run win32 software on this edition, the software must be converted in UniversalWindowsPlatform app and installed by the Microsoft Store( but after conversion, software could run also on regular Windows 10 editions!...), if this could be a problem, you must consider the opportunities like: a larger user base that can see your product and give you feedback, furthermore distributing your software on Microsoft Store allowing direct update of your software to all users (or selected groups, as also send a trial version not crackable...), running win32 code as UWP, meaning that it run into a kind of sandbox that don't compromise the OS if there are problems.

We tried the online tool made by Microsoft for convert win32 software to UWP app ( bridge10.azurewebsites.net/ ), because I just tested the demo of your software for evalutation and I tried to convert your installer to UWP only for curiosity.
So, I saw an opportunity for you and I'm glad to submit "my" MoI 3d UWP with the hope that you could evalutate the Microsoft Store as distribution channel.

If you don't want wait to understand how use online bridge, check the link to "my" MoI 3d UWP app (download the zip from this link, is secure!):
https://yadi.sk/d/4-4ICGXt3Grabi

for install first of all, in Windows 10 PC go to setings -> for developers ->activate developer mode.
so, go to C:...\MoI3D UWP\MOI3d duble click on auto-generated.pfx to install certificates -> choose local computer -> open path in C:...\MoI3D UWP\MOI3d and choose auto-generated.cer -> click enter, in the next windows choose automatic folder -> push enter and is done.
After this steps you can install MoI 3d UWP go to :\Users\ASUS\YandexDisk\OPENSOURCE UWP\MoI3D UWP\MOI3d duble click on MOI3d.appx -> install...and is done!
This is the base to start development of a more advanced UWP app...for example you could integrate api for Surface Dial or for Holographic Platform.

Scuse me for poor English...

Hi Pilou!
The cost to go on Microsoft Store is like the other apps store (Google Playstore or Apple Store)...in the next days we check how much, but isn't expensive.
I think that Trimble put an ight price because their software was redesigned for holographics and target high professional clients that can pay more of 1000$ to buy HoloLens. HoloLens, for now, is only a product demonstrator made by Microsoft to show the potential of mixed reality; but at the end of this year HP, Acer and others OEM will go out with cheaper products.
On the Store MoI could tray also alternative business models like free version with advertise in app and a payed version without.
I want remark that once you have published on Windows Store you can use it as your first distribution channel because all Windows 10 PC can use the app like a win32 software.

I'm new here...you are a MoI developer?

Than after this presentation of Windows Store I can go to Microsoft for give it my invoice! :-D

Hi Francesco, I'm glad that you are interested in MoI, but the MoI software including even the trial version is copyrighted software and is not allowed to be copied and distributed by other means than the MoI web site. Please remove your unauthorized distribution from https://yadi.sk/d/4-4ICGXt3Grabi immediately.

Currently I have no plans to distribute MoI through the Microsoft Store, one reason being that Microsoft takes 30% of the sale price for themselves. That works ok for software that's at a very low price and high volume, or that is free with "in app" purchases. MoI is not in that category at all, it's totally the reverse of that, it's a lower volume and somewhat higher cost software and used to get work done. The Microsoft store works great for casual apps that don't require a lot of support like say Fruit Ninja for example. MoI requires a lot more support than a casual app like that and so it is not a good fit for what you describe.

Thanks, - Michael

Hi Michael,
I just removed my porting to UWP, as already say is not my intention destroy your great work.

Thank you, I understand!
...now wich I'm speaking directly with you, I have a question: why there aren't measuring tools(distence, area and volume) to use during drawing steps? For me this lack is a great problem...

Hi Francesco, thank you for removing the download.

Well, there are tools for specifying exact distances while drawing things, like if you draw a line and want it to be 30 units long you can type 30 and push enter to activate distance constraint. Other tools have numeric input fields so you can enter a numeric width and height for a rectangle for example, or type in the radius value for a sphere.

Measuring area and volume are usually things you might do after you're done drawing something, not really while in the middle of dynamically drawing itself. Right now MoI is more focused just on the drawing part and not much on the "after drawing" part but I do expect to be adding in some object analysis tools in the future.
