Hi!

Is the 160MB filesize normal? Unfortunately I can not load or I dont know that is freeze or load.
Probably do I need more memory? I worked very much with it.

Hi Andras, do you mean you have a .3dm file that is 160MB in size?

I'd say that is rather unusually large, not really a normal sized file.

You will definitely need plenty of system memory (RAM) to work with such a large file - it takes additional memory for things like the display mesh of a surface, so while running it can require many times more than just the file size worth of data.

If MoI is freezing during load, it is probably trying to load it but it is going very slowly because you have run out of system RAM and it is now swapping to disk which slows thing down very much.

OK I see. But I downloaded the Rhino v4 Eval and can manage this large file.

Are you using Rhino in wireframe mode?

If so then that would make a difference - MoI does not have a wireframe mode. Instead MoI displays objects with a shaded view. Displaying a shaded view is a much more realistic view, but it does require more memory for the display meshes, and some additional time to calculate them.

In the future I want to add a wireframe mode to MoI, it would be useful for situations like this with dense and complex files.

Hi Andras, that's definitely the reason why then.

MoI is just not designed at this point in time to handle extremely large models, it needs more display options and also object organization type methods before stuff like that will work better.

For version 1.0 the focus of MoI is on more simple models and making it really quick and easy to create simple things.
