Round fillets for surface only

I create patterns for CNC Routers and it's mostly a 2.5D than 3D. I do a lot of pieces in Moi3d and than transfer to Aspire. On this picture, which is a handsaw handle, I need to create fillets on the highlighted surface only.

Is there a way to do this??

Thank you
Suzanne

Of course yes! :)
Your volume must be a volume

Select external principal edges's handle then call Fillet
Select internal principal edges's handle then call Fillet

If needing
Select little drawings rectangular + sinuous curve then call Fillet

PS and rectangular must don't touch the internal Princimpal edges!

Hi Suzanne, do you mean to target the edges of that front surface? You can do that on a solid by selecting a face of the solid and then when you go to fillet it all the edges of that face will be targeted for filleting. But the particular shaping you've got there has several different qualities that will tend to make things difficult for the filleter to work on it, like the sharp cusp in the opening, and the small size of the pattern openings. The sharp cusp will make it difficult for the filleter to make a corner juncture patch in that spot and the small size and close clustering of the pattern openings will not leave very much room for placing fillets there, they'd have to be of a pretty small radius in order to fit there without running into each other.

Hi Michael
Is there any way that Moi could smooth all the edges of a model when it exports it as an OBJ? I have experimented lately with other modeling software and nothing comes close to Moi in terms of modeling speed. Its a shame that filleting is so difficult.
Best wishes
Keith

Hi Keith, unfortunately no rounding edges when exporting to OBJ would not be an easy thing to do, doing a good job of filleting on a polygon model is also a quite difficult thing to do well. It would involve a large amount of work to try and do that and deal with all kinds of issues like if there happen to be small polygons near the fillets and various complications like that.
