Shift+NumpadX shortcut keys not working

Hi Michael,

I was just assigning some new shortcut keys and discovered that "Shift+NumpadX" keys don't work. Alt and Ctrl prefixes work fine with the numpad keys. Is this by design or is it a bug/problem with my installation. Not a big deal as I can use Alt prefix just as easily, just thought I'd ask. Thanks.

Hi Dan, it's not something that MoI is doing intentionally, it seems to be built into Windows that holding down Shift with a Numpad key is automatically translated to the numpad cursor control keys (like Insert, PageUp, Home, End, etc...).

So for example if you hold down shift and push 0, Windows tells MoI that it received an Insert keystroke with no shift. So if you set up a shortcut key for Insert= it should get triggered with Shift+Numpad0 as well, same should apply to End for Shift+Numpad1, DownArrow for Shift+Numpad2, etc...

It looks like this is just built in to Windows keyboard handling, I don't know of any way to avoid it. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20040906-00/?p=37953/

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the explanation, makes sense. I think I'll go with the Alt prefix as using RightArrow in lieu of Shift+Numpad6 (2, 4 & 8 for other arrows) will result in the arrow keys triggering the same script which isn't really very helpful.

Dan.
