Have you checked MeshFusion after they overhauled gui for it in 10.2? While previously it was a pain to use now it seems they are nailing it.

As for general usage of Modo - personally I found modeling in it quite easy, fast and enjoyable. It still IMO is one of its strongest points. But it is another story when you start digging outside modeling - usually it is as complex as most of the dcc apps out there. As they caught up with huge chunks of functionality I hope they'll work on workflows - hopefully new MeshFusion gui is a good indication that they're aware of the issues.

I've tried Modo's 30-day trial version again about a month ago, and still couldn't get used to it. But that's predominantly a personal thing, because I am way too used to Blender's workflow, keyboard shortcuts, menus, etc.. Switching between the workflow, functions and keyboard keys of four 3D applications (Blender, MoI, ZBrush and Keyshot) makes my head spin enough already. :)
