Hi Nicolinux,

As long as I can, I don't usually use offset because it adds unwanted control points and complexity to the resulting curves/surfaces.

Here's a little tut. Obviously there are many ways to do it, and this is one of them.
N.B. I used 2 circle with a radius of 15 and 19 and I did a final chamfer of 2, that is (19-15 = 2).

And here's the 3dm file http://take.ms/nBqlB

Wow, thank you. I feel so humbled, but happy :)
Marco, what is this advanced sorcery you are using to display an inline menu with all MoI commands? It looks really handy.

Hi Marco, offset of a circle or circular arc is handled as a special case and will generate another exact circle or circular arc, so you shouldn't need to worry about increased control point density for those.

Aaaaahhh LOL :) :)

I'm sorry for the HUGE mistake in my previous post!! (http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=8128.5)

(19-15 = 2) LOL LOL LOL

A brand new Mathematics....

I wanted to say : 19-15 = 4, that is the chamfer (2) * 2

Best,

Oh man, now I am really jealous. How do you create such pretty renderings?

Btw. I created this model for one specific purpose - to print it and have a miniature spinner :)

@mkdm
Why do you share such image in PNG format ?
It's 50 megas! I have a very slow connection at this date so...
Same in JPG (compression 75%) is 750 kb even in big format 5760 * 3018

Hi

> Oh man, now I am really jealous. How do you create such pretty renderings?

I exported the model from Moi to obj format with maximum detail level, then imported in 3D-Coat for Pixel Painting.
In 3D-Coat I've simply applied some simple Smart Materials and finally I rendered directly inside 3D-Coat.
Thtat's all!

Best,

- Marco (mkdm)

Hi Pilou,

> Why do you share such image in PNG format ?

I made a mistake.

I thought I'd converted to jpg before uploading.

This is the jpg image http://take.ms/MVbWb

P.S. Anyway, the original PNG that I uploaded is 4.5Mb on my HD, not 50 Mb as told by you. I don't know where these 50M come from...

Best,

- Marco (mkdm)
