Hi, Metin Seven

> Except for maybe Modo's MeshFusion I know no alternative that equals it.

In the past year (2015), while I was deciding which scultping software I would buy,
I compared "ZBrush' Dynamesh" to "3DCoat's voxel + Live Clay brush", and their respective workflows.

Well, I think that if you are looking for speed, undoubtedly ZBrush's Dynamesh performances are much better,
but if you are looking for versatility and ease, then 3DCoat's voxels are the choice.

But, of course, they are both great features.

P.S. I had a look to the new "Surface Noise" feature of the Zbrush Core and I must say that's very interesting!

Nice day,

- Marco (mkdm)

Hi Marco,

Thanks for your advice.

I've had a go at the demo version of 3D Coat about a year ago. It's definitely an interesting and versatile tool, and I'm keeping an eye on its development.

The only issue I have with 3D Coat's Live Clay is that it uses dynamic triangulation, like Blender's Dyntopo. Quads are more suitable for sculpting than triangles. That's where Dynamesh shines: it has relatively few triangles and mainly quads.

A nice day to you too,

Metin

Hello all,
I have to say that it also exists something called Sculptris (owned by pixologic too)
It is free to use and download and has an interesting story...

pixologic.com/sculptris/

https://www.quora.com/How-is-Sculprits-different-from-ZBrush

Btw, Blender has also something called DynTopo, which generates geometry on-the-fly too.

Good evening to everyone!

D.

I wonder if Pixologic will continue Sculptris development when ZBrushCore is released.

Sculptris was not developped by Pixologic first!
And I doubt that they modify it!
It's yet a mature product!

About demo they want first have a product without default!

if you want an another very innovative prog try also Neobarok

Bonjour Frenchy,

Neobarok looks interesting, merci for the tip.

As with many bought applications, the new owner might discontinue support for it. This might also become the case with Sculptris, but I hope for its users that it will not happen. Otherwise they can switch for ZBrushCore for a very reasonable price.

Regards from les Pays-Bas,

— Metin

Hi Metin

I was Net friend with the regretted Bas Mazur a Dutch extravagant ZBrush Artist!

http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc-user-gallery.php?uid=5714 (27 pages)
Enjoy with its singular art!
Here very classical but its art was very more disturbing!
And yes ZBrush can make art painting/drawing!

Hi Frenchy,

Wow, that's an interesting approach to ZSphere modeling. I guess he used classic skinning, nice!

The name Bas Mazur definitely rings a bell, I'll Google him to see more of his work, thanks.
