Hi Nicolas, Apple made some big changes in how multi monitors work, and the libraries that the MoI Mac version currently uses are not compatible with those changes yet.

If you change the OS setting to go back to the previous multiple monitor behavior that may avoid the problem.

The setting is under System Preferences > Mission Control - uncheck "Displays have separate Spaces" there.

You will then need to reboot your system in order for this change to take effect.

Does it behave any better after that?

The next version of MoI should not have this problem anymore.

Hi Michael, this is the first time I've noticed this behavior.

I got the same issue (and the same icon) with some normal Mac apps that used to work perfectly until Sierra so obviously something is changed.
In one particular case i traced the issue to: "Objective-C garbage collection is no longer supported" but this should have nothing to do with Automaton..

Hi Dinos, well I'm glad you found a solution that works!

Probably my biggest gripe with Apple is that they seem to hardly focus much attention on backwards compatibility.

I am certainly hoping that MoI v4 will be more resilient in this area though since it will not have so many layers of apps in it.

I just tried this tip and the one about a setting in Mission Control, and neither had any effect on the missing Title Bar with MacOS Sierra.
I can neither move nor minimize a window in MOI 3.1

Could we please have a bug fix before the eventual MOI 4?

Hi Rick, did you restart your machine after changing the "Displays have separate spaces" setting?

Unfortunately there is not any fix available for it yet in the library that MoI 3.1 uses.

Hi Rick, another thing you can try to see if it helps is to install the latest XQuartz from here: https://www.xquartz.org/ and then change the setting in MoI for it to use the system installed XQuartz rather than the bundled one as described here: http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=6967.4

I did restart the system after trying the first two tweaks.
The last one - of installing newer Quartz, appears to have done the job - I now get a title bar with window controls that work, but it gets launched from a bash window that stays on-screen.
Oh well, at least it's a workaround that restores the function - Thanks.

Unfortunately, while it solves one oissue, ot creates another. Because it is running from a XQuartz parent, the Edit menu does not apply to MOI - you cannot copy/paste objects in MOI.

Now the question is how do I get Editing functions back?

Hi Rick, what about Cmd+C for copy and Cmd+V for paste, or MoI has Copy/Paste buttons on the Edit section of the side pane.

Right you are - the shortcuts of Cmd+C and Cmd+V do work, and I had completely missed the Copy/Paste icons in the sidebar.
Thanks. Looking forward to v4.
