Hello Michael,

Until now I have been using MOI for quite some time and I enjoy it immensly (I am surely on board when V1 with documentation, PDF?, is ready and the problem mentioned here can be solved). I did uninstall older versions an install newer versions whenever they were available and enjoyed teh evr increasing performance of MOI.

With the Jul-27 I have a strange problem however, which I haven't had before. It's suddenly very slow. For example, when I click on OPTIONS it takes some three seconds before the option window opens, when I click on one of the tabs in the options windows (for example: VIEW) it again takes about three seconds before the tab opens.

The same slow response is seen on all the commands (DRAW CURVE, DRAW SOLID, TRANSFORM etcetera). Drawing a simple line takes some ten seconds!! because having to waite for a response after evert mouseclick.

Even after uninstall and reinstall of the Jul-27 version, the slow response remains.
Even after shut down and restart of the PC, the slow reponse remains.

So I went back to the previous version, which I used without these problems: the Jul-17 version.
And indeed it works fine (as it used to do), with almost immedeatly response to my mouseclicks!

My PC:
AMD 64 4000+
3 Gb RAM
320 Gb HD
ATI X800 Pro 256 Mb
Windows XP PRO 32bits

Best Regards

Hans

Hi Hans, can you please try the test version available from here: http://moi3d.com/beta/moi_Jul-30-2007_setup.exe

and let me know if that seems to work better for you?

Hello Michael,

Thanks for the fast response.

I have just installed the test version Jul-30, after uninstalling the Jul-17 version. It works fine! Again I see the almost instant response to my mouseclicks I'm used to, the Jul-30 behaves the same way as the Jul-17 version regarding responsivness.

Now I'm very curious what might have caused this strange behaviour of the Jul-27 version on my system, especially since apperently sofar I'm the only one with this problem since no similar cases have been reported on this forum until now!?

(By the way, just to check things again, I also did uninstall the Jul-30 version and installed the Jul-27 version again. I again see the very slow response on my mouseclicks. Uninstalling Jul-27 followed by installing Jul-30: the speed is back again and everything acts normal. So whatever causes the problem, it is at least related to the Jul-27 version).

Hi Hans, that's great news! Shortly I will release a new Aug-1 build that has a couple other minor fixes, it looks like I am now all caught up with bug fixes for the time being.

One other person had reported it here: http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=797.18 .

I had tweaked some security related settings with that build to try and solve the script error problems that some people were seeing. Some of those tweaks seemed to have a bad interaction with some configurations, I guess things are getting in a loop or doing an excessive number of security check calls. Anyway with this new build I have isolated the script error problem and applied just the particular workaround needed to make that work right.

These have actually all been really minor changes, but they involved changing some settings for how some system components interact with each other.

I'm glad that it is all resolved now!
