Make2D 4 views script  1-20  21-27

I made a script (attached) that will do a "Make2D" on all 4 views in one go.

See this FAQ answer for instructions on how to install a plug-in script:
http://moi3d.com/wiki/FAQ#Q:_How_do_I_install_a_plug-in_script.3F

Hope it will be useful!

Hi Pilou, so for example if you select an object like this:

When you then run the script, it will generate 2D curves in the Top view like this:

So it generates all 4 views in one go, while the regular Make2D command can only do one view at a time. In the future I want to make an "All views" option in Make2D and PDF/AI/DXF export but until then this can help.

Hi Michael...

How about the invisible lines...? Usually appear as a dash line.

Thanks..

Hi Anis, when you run the command there is an option for whether to generate invisible lines or not. To enable it, turn on this checkbox here:

When enabled the hidden lines will be assigned to a style named "Hidden lines". If you export to Illustrator you can look for that layer to set up dashed line styles.

Hi Pilou,

re:

It's normal for this particular case since it was able to re-use the prompts from the Make2D command which you have already translated.

Hi Dzeko,

The 3D view gets converted to 2D by a projection method and it's just part of how projection works that an angled projected line does not have the same length as the original line.

You can try putting in the dimension in the 3D model before you run Make2D so the dimension text and arrows are all part of the process, or if you need better dimensioning than that you should try some different CAD programs that have focused more on that specific area than MoI has as of yet. Try ViaCAD for an inexpensive solution.
