Hello all,

I try to bend the arm of the man but moi cannot achieve this operation ( or ?) and i try to create the shape directly with the arm blended
but how to make surface ?

in the picture i have blended the arm in other software, but i need to achieve this in moi

Why is the best way to achieve this ?

Sorry for my english.

Thank you in advance

Hi Dzeko, MoI does not currently have any tool for generating a fitted surface directly through a non-planar closed warped curve like that. I'd recommend using Rhino's "Patch" command for that instead since MoI is not able to do that particular task right now. It is something that I'd like to add in the future though.

Salut Dzeko,

Your path must be flat (and closed) in order to create a plane.
Selec the faulty path,
clic on its dimensions (left top corner of the window, below the style name),
uncheck the "Maintain Proportions" box,
then enter 0 as Y value.

You could also resize the selection to 0 with the mouse in the top or right view.

Your path will become flat. You could then use the Flow-Deform command to bend the shape.

Hi Dzeko - one way that could possibly work for you in MoI would be to start with your planar curve, then run Draw solid > Plane to make a plane that closely hugs the outline, then run Edit > Add pt on that plane and insert some control points on the plane so there are some points localized in that general area, then use Edit > Trim to cut the plane with the outline. Now you can use Edit > Show pts on the trimmed surface and it will have that same control point structure and you can turn on surface control points using Edit > Show pts and move and rotate just the corner points to warp the surface:

Hope that will work for you,

- Michael
