Hay guys!
Want to share with you some unofficial preview of new polygonal modeler we are working on for last 6 months.
It will be workflow oriented inspiring software!
This modeler is based on NVil platform and introduce a lot of new original tools and solutions!
It will have connection with MoI so you will be able to transfer objects between programs.

Nice work Andrei on redesigning Nvil's interface and making the most often used modelling tools readily accessible.

I like the seamless connection you have got going there between Nvil and Moi and back again. That makes life easy.

Please ensure that the Moi connection supports the NVil portable feature. I use Nvil from Dropbox and Moi also. I could never use your Moi Bridge.

2byts,
This connection was rebuild from scratch, so I hope it will work with your setup too :)

They are already so many polymodeler around (free and commercial), I hardly see the point for this.
I would much prefer to have some basic poly modeling tools inside MoI, to play with Sub-D to Nurbs technology.

Are you using Max Smirnov work for creating this bridge ? (.obj loader and Subdiv script ?)
If so I hope you agree to some money compensation with Max ^^

PaQ, In this cadegory, there is only one software - Silo, but we step much, much more futher with our app. Also vere is price tag differences and a lot of other factors.
About subd script, it uses Max's script, I disscused it with Max, before implement it, so everything is ok.
Our app also have bridge with 3Coat and I plane to make bridge with Keyshot. But this is just nice small additions to make life easer, the main feature of app is inovative, streamlined polygonal modelling workflow, that kind of workflow you do not meet in any other apps.

Hi PaQ,

my scripts are freeware, which everyone can modify and use freely even as a part of commercial projects. Of course, all copyright notices should be included.
Andrei asked me for permission few months ago. So everything is OK :)

Privet Andrei,i'm glad you're still alive :)

I see bad triangulation importing from MOI a bool-diff object,it depends by settings ? Can you improve the topology?

Can you consider a trial version of your modeler?

Privet Mauro :)
It is because MoI object export settings was set this way. You can set them the way you need from standart MoI export dialog:)
Sure, will be trial version even before this will be beta version so you can be beta tester. But now there are some things to finish to start beta testing.

Andrei, is this a new polymodeler or a just a UI preset with a Bridge to Moi?

I ask because I want to know what are the new features that are not already native to Nvil other then the Moi Bridge. I use both Moi and Nvil on a daily basis so this interests me. I have my own UI presets because I also use Maya daily and have a different workflow then you but I will be paying attention to what you post :)

Mauro, those are typical results of a boolean on a low poly model. The blue edges have soft normals and can be hidden, leaving only the black edges visible which have hard normals. Moi converts every poly face to a nurbs surface so to fix the topology, you would need to manually fix the Ngons of the polygon mesh to make them all quads. A lot of people avoid using Booleans in polymodelers until the very end because of this time consuming process. Ngons and Booleans are difficult to work with on curved polygonal surfaces.

2byts, it is new software based on NVil. There are so many new features and ideas implemented in it so to describe tham all will it take too much time :) So will be better to wait unitl it will be released and you will be able to check it by yourself to make your own conclusion :)

Cool Andrei! Glad to see you back.

Will it have a link to 3D Coat like NVil?

Like the icons.

So Andrei,

Did you have a change of heart regarding "screwing all of us egotistical, amateur, beginner type losers"????

I mean, sometimes our emotions get the best of us. An apology would certainly feel like you have some type of remorse about that...

If not, I don't really see a great place for you to promote your endeavor, as being the MoI forum. I probably wont let that slide by very well...

Do you understand?

Hello,

I can just imagine the exchange when someone needs application support, it would be the stuff of legend (not in a good way).

Hi Andrei,

How are you ? I hope fine.

I'm exploring the possibility to buy a commercial version of NVIL but i'm discouraged by its strange UI.

What about the first beta of your new polygonal modeler ?

Have a nice day.

- Marco (mkdm).
