Scripts Icons Gallery  1-20  21-38

Hi everyone,

after a little effort, not so little though :), this is my contribuition to this forum.

It's an icons collection for a script gallery.

The commands and scripts i used, are a personal selection from the great job did by BurrMan,
pubblished in the post "scripts command collected" at http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=7841.6

Moi3D uses a minimalist and streamlined interface, great interface, and i suppose that this may collide with this vision,
but i'm a fan of the icons and i ran out of shortcut keys :)

I made every icon, launching the linked command first, then made some stuff with it,
captured the Moi's screen and finally edited the picture in PS.

This UI add on, works with or without the fantastic Max's CustomUI.

Feel free to modify any parts of this material.

Nice day to everyone!

Marco

Hi Pilou,

No, i don't think.

All the icons and the html file is contained in the Step4_ScriptsGallery.zip file.

Once unzipped, you get 2 elements.

1 folder, named scriptsGalleryIcons, that contain all the icons,

and 1 file named ScriptsGallery.htm.

Both the file and the folder must be copied into the folder : "<moi install folder>\ui"

Let me know if there are some issues.

Marco.

You right for any reasons the files and folders were not copyed!

All works fine for the icons! (of Course I must all translate in French! :)

I must also resolve now some problems because seems
There is some problem for some one and some other works fine!

this one is ok! :)

tis one is not OK! :( (works of course when I Press Tab then write _Fatlines !

It's not present on your "commands folder" but present in my "commands folder"!

As the folder commands is yet existing how do you manage files inside with your new commands folder?

Hi Pilou and everyone again.

I tried the FatLines command and all works fine for me.

The UI add on i wrote, needs to have the commands and scripts, contained in the file Step5_Commands_And_Scripts.zip.

One unzipped, you will get 2 elements.

1 folder "commands" and 1 folder "scripts"

Both the folders must be copied into the folder : "<moi install folder>".

In the "commands" folder, for example, there are the FatLines.htm and FatLines.js files, that are required to run the FatLines command.

Note that in my package the command file name is "FatLines" and not "_FatLines".

Hoping this con help.

Marco.

That is that!

You have writed FatLine and not _FatLines! ;)

After rename this inside the Step4 (ScriptsGallery.htm) all works fine for me!

Now some works for me for rename all the commands witout the "_" and translate icons' name! :) (if possible)

Else very cool one plugin! Bravo!

PS if you copied a folder "commands" in the same folder Moi/ where one is yet existing there will be conflict ?

Hi,

There's one thing that i don't understand yet.

Why do you want to rename some command file names reference in the ScriptsGallery.htm ?

If you copy all the files that are contained into the "commands" and "scripts" folder zipped into the file Step5_Commands_And_Scripts.zip,
you don't have the need to rename anything.

If you copy the "commands" and "scripts" folder in "<moi install folder>",
is it possible that you will get the overwriting file dialog.
In this case, no problem. Answer "yes" and accept the new files.

Marco.

Hi Pilou and all,

anyway, if someone don't want to use the commands and scripts contained in the file Step5_Commands_And_Scripts.zip,
but want to maintain his current commands or scripts file names, no problem.

In this case, is sufficient to rename the command name referenced in the file ScriptsGallery.htm,
contained into the archive Step4_ScriptsGallery.zip.

I hope that Pilou or someone else will improve this UI add on.

Nice evening.

Marco.

Hi Pilou and all,

I think that this be useless, but.....

as a general info, if you overwrite a folder that contains, let's say, 10 files,
with a folder that have the same name, but contains, let's say, only 5 files,
this operation wan't delete any files from your original folder.

If the folder you are copying contains new files, those files will be copied to the original folder,
while every files with the same name will be overwitten.

So, no problem if the "commands" and "scripts" folder that are contained in the Step5_Commands_And_Scripts.zip file,
have less files then your actual folders.

Marco.

Hi Marco,

Great job! Nice icons. I took different approach ( See attached image). I used MOI option Dialog and created the Plugin gallery. The dialog can stay open or you can drag it to second monitor and free-up the moi viewport. This is part of my overall UI modification. I will be happy to share it just need to write instruction for installation.

Thanks,

-sharif

Hi Sharif,

I'm happy to see that in this forum good ideas never die :)

I like your approach and i think it will be very useful, although,
for a more practical use, it needs doubtless a second monitor.

In my opinion, the very best tool to obtain a real cool plugin library,
would be to have this two things linked together :

a panel gallery based on big and nice, and self explanatory icons,
like ones did by you or me (i prefer colorful icons than grey ones),

and, above all, a text command search with auto completion.

So, while someone writes some letter of a command name, the panel filters the icons accordingly.

You might even think to filter the search based on some hidden description apppliyed to each or some of the commands.

So, if i have, let's say, 400 or more commands and scripts, and i need a tool
that help me to create some kind of stuff, the search should show me all the commands and script that are
candidate to do that stuff.

Maybe someone wants to dig into this challenge ?

I hope someone will do.

Nice night.

Marco.

Hi Michael,

Not at all!

It was a some sort of break time from my daily job,
'cause i'm an hobbyist and an enthusiast in cad and 3d modelling and in computer graphic in general.

Using Moi is almost always a fun, and i think, that most of the philosophy that lies behind Moi,
should, in general, be shared by others cad/3d software, like, just to name one, Rhino.
Not for nothing that product was also written by you, if i remember correctly... :)

What do you think about my post to Sharif about the convenience to write some sort of plugin gallery that
will supply a sort of filter search based on some hidden descriptions applied to each or some of the commands,
and should filter the shown icons accordingly ?

Are you thinking some similar sort of thing for version V4 ?

Thank you for all and nice day.

Marco.
