The other way you can do it using Rhino is to import it into Rhino and then use Rhino's MeshToNurb command on it, then send the resulting NURB object into MoI either using copy/paste or by saving it out to a 3DM file.

Again though, if your STL file has a heavy number of facets in it, it won't translate well this way, NURBS models are intended to have bigger smooth surfaces in them and not hundreds of thousands of little facets.
