Flow a circular (flat) pattern on to partial sphere

I've appreciated the many tutorials and forum discussions around using the Flow tool. Now that I know how to use it, I'm struggling to get the precise mapping of a surface on to a (partial) sphere that I want.

If you look at the attached images--4 of the 6 green lines, once mapped to the sphere, are no longer "lines". In addition, if you take a peek at the 3D view, the circular pattern that I map on to the partial sphere does not reach the "bottom" of the partial sphere in all places.

Is there a way to get a more "orthogonal" mapping from the surface to the sphere?

It's the same problem than in this video! ;)

You must first "Flat" the surface for draw your lines on it!

Make sure that you use ShrinkTrimmedSrf on your partial sphere and flatten a copy for your base surface.

Example file attached.

Well, that was a little more frustrating than I'd hoped, but now that I know I can type commands in to the console by pressing Tab, I guess I have a way forward. Thank you all who led me in the right direction!
