I tried to create the surfaces according to the youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSnRZAau5b4

I have Moi3D v2 but Blend command is not working like on the video. Is blend comman better on v3?

Hi JML82,

Yes, there are various improvements to the Blend command in v3 - one thing is that you can select multiple edges on each side of the blend instead of only being able to blend between 2 edges like in v2, and there are some new options like being able to add sync points.

Yes, now works also me! Probably I selected the curves at first time, no the edge.

Thanks Michael for reply!

Hi JML82, yes if there are curves sitting right on top of the edges you need to delete or hide those curves so you can select the edge instead.

Hi Micheal.
I'm playing the Blend command and got the same issue.
I did double check. There is no curves selected.

When I try to blend the edges there's always a 'calculation failed' message.

You can find a screenshot here:

Do you have any idea on how to fix that?
Thank you very much

Hi Roger, can you please post the 3DM model file for that so I can try the blend over here?

Hi Roger, that's happening because Blend sees edges that touch each other as part of one long chain for one side of the blend, so in this kind of arrangement it is only getting one long thing instead of 2 sides. However, if you give it only 2 edges it will take each one as one side even if they touch.

In this attached version I've used the Merge command (http://moi3d.com/3.0/docs/moi_command_reference10.htm#merge) on your edges so there is just one edge on each side and now that should work.

I do want to improve the Blend command in the future so that your original case would work though.

Thank you very much for clarifying, Michael. I did some tests merging the edges and worked nicely :-)

Have a great weekend!

Roger
