Dear gentlemen your tips are very much appreciated - thank you all !
Maybe the only solution will be a manual placement of each object
but I am experimenting with the tools you kindly presented.

Tom

If truly equi-spacing that is paramount, the holes must deviate from regular polygons, like so:

Here is .nod file for generating image above

Hope this helps

What an amazing node !! - and what kind of brain do you have to put this thing together ?!?!

The idea behind this pattern is for a 2dimensional piece of jewelry which creates the illusion
of 3diemensional space.

I used the nodebased shape to place and resize the singlegem- objects by hand.

Tom & Pilou,

If you think that image above looks like a Victor Vasarely, then have a look at the one I've just posted here: https://www.instagram.com/nodeology/

Tom,

Thank you for your kind words.

>> How nany different nodes have you developed to achieve those results ? <<

I have contributed very few nodes, generally & only 2 in "equiDistPattern2.nod" ("Planar" & "reRange "). The real heroes of all my node experiments are Krasten and of course Max.

Thanks again,
James

The nodesystem is an incredible tool ! So if you did not build all the nodes by yourself,
where did you find them ? Is there a central depository with all the nodes developed
yet to be downloaded in one file ?

You can find all here and more! ;) look of course on the right English part for Elephant! ;)

so what that you search is Elephant / Install / the link about extentions by James! ;)

http://moiscript.weebly.com/biblio-elephant.html

I don't believe that James has yet published a link about all nodes for its "Nolology" images!

Tom,

>> Is there a central depository with all the nodes developed yet to be downloaded in one file ? <<

Here is the full set of nodes:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=9358.1

.>> So if you did not build all the nodes by yourself, where did you find them ? <<

There can be confusion because some people use the word nodes to denote .nod files (eg Pilou).
If you are asking about my .nod files, many can be found on this thread:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=7777.1
It is a long thread and contains the experiments of myself and many others.

Most of my experiments posted to Instagram, I have not posted .nod files on the forum.
It can be a hassle, and I have a short attention span..... and I usually have moved on before I have an opportunity to clean up files for primetime.

Anyway I hope this answers your question either way.

Sorry for the confusion....the .nod files to achieve the various results in my postings are indeed my own work. Once you get your head around how the nodes work in combination with each other, intricate pattern and complex form become accessible to generate. I won't say it is easy, you keep at it because it is rewarding.

I don't see much value in posting all the various .nod files to the forum, because many are a total mess...& as I said earlier, finessing them can be quite laborious.

Instead the file above is a good example to use for instructional purposes. I have attached a revised file "ANNOTATED_equiDistPattern.nod" with annotations of each of the nodes explaining the process.
If you analyse the steps you will start to see how it works.

Cool : but how do you made the annotations ? There is a node for that ?

Why the "Cos" is redish ? I believe first that this node was not on my NE so I don't launch the global one first! :)

Funny when we open a Macro we discover a new world! :)
So effectively some hard to follow all the mental way for the result in few time! :)
Use it first...and make some nodes before dig in this gorgeous abyssal country! :)

Else a curious result with the Flow function - without NE
http://moiscript.weebly.com/uploads/3/9/3/8/3938813/currious_result.zip

I extrude your result for have a thickness
then Flow it on an Half sphere
Curriously result is a quasi sphere with a not projective mode!
Does this normal ?

Just 5 seconds for test with this amazing free TwinMotion (load it before end october)
grab screen of the workscreen...truely infinites possibilities and so easy!

So far, I have not figured out how to get the very light color for the Annotation Macro using Max's Light color scheme??? Exports come back with regular shades/colors.
At this time, my Regular color scheme is replaced with Jame's light color scheme, so I cannot try it. I'll have to get it back...

Jame's Annotations method looks very good, and useful.

In Jame's light color scheme, the Macros are very slightly shaded grey, versus a regular node.
