Hi,

In search for a solution for a pattern design I came across this great script.

My question is : I need equidistant gaps between the multiplied objects -
is this achievable wit this script ?

Or achievable by other means ?

Best TOM

I don't know what is the nature of your object result but if you press Tab then write ExplodeMove (without space) maybe you will have your result wanted! ;)

Explode Move is hidden function but integrated inside the Native Moi3D !

Else you can recreate all the plugin PatterNodes or what anything you want exactly with ELEPHANT! ;)

Thank you Pilou, I tried it out but nothing happened - I need to take a closer look how this script works.

I am attaching a pattern like the one I want to achieve / create variations.

Maybe "Separe" your result before use Explodemove!

There is a hex pattern on the grill. Used NodeEditor with a modified HexTesselation macro and James's FishEye Node. Not quite right on hole sizing.

<<what if the objects get smaller in size like in the photo shonwn?

It works at any size! ;)

The different size smaller is not done by the perspective ?

Else not make an Half line of objects decreasing and an a circular array

@TOM - The HexTesselation macro is a part of the Elephant Node Editor. It is a macro that creates an array of hex objects.

My skills with advanced design graphics is limited. There are many here with talents that are remarkable. They are the ones that write the amazing routines. I just mix them together to see what happens and having fun at the same time.

Wayne

Note: Is the spelling HexTesselation or HexTesselarion? The menu has one and the display cell header has the other spelling. Add it to the list..

Right click the NE and two selections appear. Node and Macro. Click Macro and the macros appear. Another chapter for your elephant documentation.

Pilou,

I am looking for the source of the advanced macros. They might have been posted in a zip file at a moment in time from a developer and should be considered undocumented and experimental.

Noting that the r key is next to the t key on a keyboard:

After google search, Tesselarion appears to be a fairly common misspelling of tesselation :-)

Pilou,

The sub macros are on node files with sub macros. I copy them for later use.

Example:

http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=7777.1537

triAxialWeaveSepColors.nod

has a sub macro 'offsetgrid.nod' that is also loaded.

I take the sub macros and copy them to my directory:
C:\Users\Wayne\AppData\Roaming\Moi\nodeeditor\macros

They are used later for different nodes and show up on the macro menu.
Just something I do for learning how things work.

A Doyle spiral, with P=14, Q = 28, deleting alternate rays, and reducing circle radii, seems to match the pattern of the grill.

- Brian

My script/node is on hiatus, due to too much work :-)

Mobius transformation of hex grid might be worth a study...

Tom

I'm not sure that this is exactly what you wanted, but it may be a starting point.

PS >> "Tesselarion" <<

I think that spelling mistake is indeed due to my poor typing!
