Still learning to model in MoI3D - Colt M4A1 with M203

Made this model in almost 30 hours. Yes, i'm still learning, yet it was a great experience that i think i could not have done it without MoI3D (it's so very intuitive to use).
Had some hard time though with fillets so that i left them sharps...

Reference obtained from various pictures via googling and some inputs from my brother-in-law who is an air force soldier.

Still need to learn a lot more, especially with modeling (semi) organic parts.

Some questions along:
1. Since there is not yet a support from MoI3D for polygonal modeling (been box-modeling before), would anyone please point me poly-modeling app which very close to MoI3D workflow? (I'm considering Wings3D)
2. Perfect renderer which support MoI3D 3dm files or any format exported by MoI3D? (any free ones are prefered)
3. Any good solution for fillets? I believe the later MoI version will have killer fillet features... ;)

Thank you very much.

PS: If it is good enough, am i allowed to post this model in MoI3D gallery?

EDIT:
By, no. 1 question i meant:
For the polygon to imported to MoI3D which will then be subD-ed with Max Smirnov's plugin, so that i becomes available within MoI3D to remodeled or cooperated with other model parts.

For Question 1

Andrei, who is/was a big MoI user, preferred Nvil out of all the polygon modellers out there.

The default Nvil interface is not so good but he has created a simpler interface which has been workflow refined and you can download the exe file to install it. http://nvil.info/about

He also created a bridge tool between Nvil and Moi although right at the moment that website is down or he has removed it.

Very nice modelling job on the weapon. Just needs lots of uving, textures and some nice renders to bring it to life.

Hi Elang,

As mentioned above, try Nvil or maybe also look at Silo (http://www.nevercenter.com/silo/).

For a free one check out Blender, for a not free but inexpensive and easier to use one check out SimLab Composer. For both of these export out from MoI to OBJ format for import into the rendering program.

> 3. Any good solution for fillets? I believe the later MoI version will have killer fillet features... ;)

Some MoI users use OnShape, Autodesk Fusion, or ViaCAD as companion programs to MoI to help out with difficult fillets.

Sure, go ahead! If you're going to do more work on it like make renderings you might wait until you have some of those set up too if you want to show those too - it's better for the gallery to have all the stuff for one project to be posted at one time as a set, please try not to post the same project to the gallery multiple times if you are going to continue to work on it. Like if you want to show a "Work In Progress" that is still being worked on then post it here to the forum and then put it in to the gallery when you're done. Thanks!

Indeed, very sad tragedy. Our hearts go with those poor victims...
And i kind of felt sorry to post this in wrong moment.

Did not do it in purpose for sure...

Had a chance to render the model in my cousin's newly KeyShot 6...

It's among my very first rendering attempts, so any C&C will appreciate much.

It was a modeling practice to get me familiarize more with MoI3D.
So, honestly i don't really have further plan with the model... :D

Maybe fixing some parts that needed to, and doing lots of fillets
for sharp edges...

Hi, krass... Thanks for your kind words...

I'm still learning here, and the best part of it is that
learning in MoI3D is very much fun!
