Thanks very much Mik, for answering Nico's question!

@Nico - yes definitely as Mik writes trying to use a fillet radius that is larger than the available room for a fillet to fit in will be problematic.

Many thanks! I followed the steps and it worked. I'll keep it in mind next time.

Btw. is there a way to detect those split edges? I guess that would be a script. I have looked here:
http://kyticka.webzdarma.cz/3d/moi/

And only "SelectNakedEdges" sounds a bit like it.

Hi Stefan, sorry no there is not currently any script set up to select split edges. Often though a split edge will still work for filleting but the fillet will also be split into one piece per edge.

Usually you can find split edges just from the selection behavior of what pieces get highlighted when you go to select edges.
