Tricky!

Thanks, I can experiment. Any idea what number of curves the original script gave?
That would be my starting point

>>Any chance of making the point density adjustable?
Maybe later. Right now you can adjust it by resizing a source image.

>>Any idea what number of curves the original script gave?
If you will load an image 60x60 pixels, you will get 60 curves with 60 points per curve. 500x500 -> 500 curves, 500 points per curve.
If image larger than 600px it will be downscaled automatically.

Hello Max,
it doesn't seem to work on a Mac.
When I start this script, the dialogbox to choose an image appears - but with a click on the OPEN button the scriptwindow (marked in red) is closed immediately and nothing else happens.
Can you help?

Andreas

some minutes later ......

Hi Max, forget about that.

Your script works great with the note from Michael (thanks):

code: var dlm = moi.filesystem.getPathDelimiter();

If you change that to be what I wrote above, like this:

code: var dlm = '\\';

Hi Andreas,

This issue was fixed in the last version of the script. Download it.

Hello Mac users, I made the change with Text Edit to line 7 of Max's script as per Michael's instructions and the script works beautifully on My Mac.
Many Thanks to Max and Michael.
Cheers.

Hey Max:

Another Heightmap idea would be to include a clipping plan to remove the background (black) or to ignore an alpha channel.
Again thanks for all your terrific scripts.

Bravissimo!

Okay Max that is okay, does it use a command that is not in V2?

Yes, v3 based on different javascript engine, and my script uses specific v3 commands.

I tried the delimiter format to "//" instead of "\\" but no luck as it still stops at the delimiter line 8 of the script.

Thanks Anyway Max!.

Hi,

I'm playing around with the heightmap plugin and I create the curves with an png file. so far so good.
When I try to copy or save or what ever... an error message pops up with the following error message in the attachment you can see.
strg+alt+ent. is the only possible solution.

Best regards
Jörg

Hi pixelhouse, do you get that same error anytime you try to save like if you start up a fresh instance of MoI and create a sphere and then save it does that work ok?

Or does it only happen with that particular file? It looks like you've got a massively complex single surface there, maybe that's causing a problem. You could try generating a less dense surface to see if that would help.

- Michael

Hi Michael,

yes, it works with an instance of Moi. But in this case I can't copy objects (landscape) from one to another Moi.
A less density object can't be a solution for me. We need to print this model out to a millling machine. Its just a quick test to see
whats possible with Moi and Max Heightmap-script.

I think, its a "spontaneous" error. Maybe its just a dream to export my landscapes to an step-file :)
