Modeled in MoI, with higher resolution than my CNC will carve, but I'm starting to get the feel for what can be done.

This religious icon for a Pastafarian friend is cut from walnut. It's about 8 x 15 x 1.8cm.

Hi libelle, that turned out great! Nice job on the noodly appendages.

Hi Libelle,

That looks great!
I wonder what software you use to go from MOI to CNC?

Thanks,

Tom.

Sorry for the delay in replying!

I used MeshCAM by GRZ Software to convert the model into G-Code. Since I have the Carbide 3D Nomad CNC, they provide a customized version of MeshCAM that has some preset values to make it easier to machine. I still find I need to tweak things a fair amount.

So I export from MOI into STL using 6-degree maximum angles, import the STL into MeshCAM.
