Unwanted plane artifacts exporting to .obj

I'm a noob trying to export a few simple toruses from MoI as an .obj file, but Netfabb and Keyshot have both revealed weird (and different!) planar artifacts through the donut holes. See screenshots of both below.

I've included the .3dm file - anybody know where they came from or have suggestions for how to get rid of them?

Hi Yophie, probably what's happening there is both those programs are having difficulty in properly triangulating a many sided polygon in the .obj file. It's fairly difficult to do a good job of converting complex concave n-gons into triangles and it's pretty easy for there to be errors with triangles kind of leaking outside the polygon boundary. Also most programs don't export n-gons like MoI can and so complex n-gon triangulation tends to be an under tested area in many programs.

When you export out from MoI try using the option for "Output: Quads & Triangles" and not "Output: N-gons", and that will probably work better for you:
