Is it possible to split the tool pallets from their tabs?

Hi all,

MOI is a great tool and I love working with it (more productive for me than every other modelling tool I own) but there is one thing that constantly disrupts my workflow and that is having to continually switch tabs in the tool pallet like having to change the "Draw Curve" to the "Draw Solid" tab. The same goes for the "Edit/View/Select) and (Construct/Transform) pallets.

Is there any way to split these into separate pallets so I can effectively organise my tool shelf to look like:

Draw Curve
Draw Solid
Edit
View
Select
Construct
Transform

Instead of:

Draw Curve/Draw Solid
Edit/View/Select
Construct/Transform

I have more than enough screen real estate to accommodate this config as I am running in 2560*1440 and have the scene browser set to Adjacent. For now I get around this using shortcuts for the most accessed tools but the number I am using is quickly becoming annoying to have to remember.

Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated :)

YES!!! This can be done :)

I just edited the SidePane.html file in the UI folder to achieve this. I left the View and Select elements in tabs as I use them so infrequently I don't mind the extra mouse click.

I have included my modified file in case it is useful to anybody else however I do not guarantee compatability with future versions of MOI or correct rendering on your screen. This is fine for my setup but you use it entirely at your own risk! Take a backup of the original file first so you can get back to a working state if this breaks anything!

Cheers

Hi Michael,

It is great that this software allows customisation to such an extent. A real breath of fresh air :)
