Hi,

I'm looking for a good CAD Programm that works on my favorite OS Linux.

Do you plan to make MoI usable with WINE or even better a native Linux port?

There is a opensource Libary OpenCascade (Win/Linux/Sun Sparc + ports to Mac OS X possible) http://www.opencascade.org/ that uses
Boundary Representation (BRep) as Fileformat, does this information rise the chance for thinking about a Linux Port?
;)

thx

Hi Penguin, sorry at this time I have no immediate plans to work on getting MoI running under Linux (either WINE or native).

I wish that I could do it, it is just a matter of resources. It will take quite a bit of time consuming work to make that happen and there just are not currently enough hours in the day...

I have looked at OpenCASCADE before, and it is very interesting. But even though OpenCASCADE supports B-Rep type objects, it does not mean that it is just an easy matter to replace one B-Rep code library with another one, it is a lot of work to swap out geometry kernels.
