The Altar at Leicester Cathedral and a big thank you to Michael Gibson

I should like to use this short presentation as a personal thank you to Michael for his brilliantly-conceived software, without which a timely completion of the altar at Leicester Cathedral would have been quite impossible. Michael is clearly very passionate about Mol, and his dedication to its support is what makes the software so supremely useful. Not only do I find it a pleasure to use, but my colleague Rupert said yesterday "drawing in Mol is better than any computer game - it has a purpose!"

Attached are a bunch of screen shots of all the major components that are in the Altar which incidentally had to be light enough to move by clergymen!

Also another video here of the custom built polishing machine:

The end result of all that work is so beautiful, James!

Hi Marbleman

impressive !

we can read this on your site :

"The antiquity of the materials James works with is in stark contrast to the modernity of the engineering solutions he provides to his clients.
The first result a client will see from a commission is a precise and meticulous 3D computer drawing of the work they envisage"

You have found the right tool to do it.

Thanks for taking the time to share the structure of the altar.
