Starting with MOI and adding Rhino later

My question is, I have no experience with 3D software, if I start with MOI and really learn it, if I later decide to use Rhino will it be easier to learn that if I started with it first. Are the two interfaces similar, etc.

Yes, using Moi first will speed up your rhino learning. It won't be a waste learning Moi first. I teach students this way.

Hi Jack, yes that can be a good way to get going, MoI is easier to start with.

The interfaces are a little different but the overall strategies for how you construct things are similar and so a lot of what you learn about how to construct things will be applicable between them.
