Hi twofoot, are there possibly any unusual symbols or punctuation characters in the folder you are having difficulty with?

Especially any of these particular characters: / \ : * ? " <> |

Those particular characters are forbidden from being in a file name in Windows and having them in the folder name may confuse the mechanism that MoI uses to run on the Mac although I had thought that was fixed in Moi v3 though.

Hi Michael, thanks for the speedy response as usual.

The folder in question is named "Chris Misc.", and the subfolder is "3pt5 revised". There are no special characters, only spaces and a period.

I am also having problems opening files across my network. I've uninstalled the program using AppCleaner, and then reinstalled, without any changes.

Is there a way to trash the preferences or other Library files on the Mac?

Hi Chris, sorry I don't know what would be causing those problems then... Is it possible the names have extra space characters in them at the end of the name rather than just as internal characters?

What happens if you make a test folder with only a few alphabetic characters in it with no spaces at all, does that make any difference?

MoI saves its settings in the moi.ini file, if you want to remove it and go back to default settings you can delete the moi.ini file from ~/Library/Application Support/Moi

But I don't think that there is any setting in there that would have an impact on this though.

Well NOW it gets interesting. LOL

There is no folder for Moi in my library/application support, and a search for moi.ini shows nothing.

I will uninstall and reinstall again to see if this fixes it.

Strangeness continues. I uninstalled/reinstalled v3 and there was no dialog to install the app-it simply unzipped and was ready to use. additionally, the program remembered all of my UI changes from previous installs, but I cannot locate any sort of .ini file.

The moi.ini file is in your Home folder/Library/Application Support which is normally hidden.

To go to that folder click on the Go menu on Finder and while the menu is visible press the Option/alt key. You will Library appear in the Go menu.
Select that and then Application Support / Moi.

For WHATEVER reason, changing all of my folder names to a single word solved the problem. I have never seen such a thing before. Even after a clean install (finally), the problem still persisted.
