Hi wim, one of those 3 edge seems to be able to be filleted if you select it alone, this one here:



So first of all select that one by itself to get that part finished.

Then the other 2 I don't know why those don't fillet, I don't see any obvious reason for that, I suspect some kind of bug at work there.

But to get them filleted and work around the bug, you can select the 2 faces on either side of the problem edge, then use Edit > Separate on it to break those 2 faces (still joined to each other) apart from the main object. Now with it just having those 2 faces to deal with and no work to do on the side pieces you can select that same edge and it will fillet now.

After you have done that, select all those 3 pieces and use Edit > Join to glue them back together again, there are now some planar surfaces that need to be rebuilt to accomodate the hole that has been opened up in them from the fillet, it's this hole filling piece that the filleter failed to do properly.

The easiest way to rebuild the planes is to select the 2 recessed bottom planes on the bottom of the fillets to open up big holes there, and then select the whole piece and run Construct > Planar - all the planar holes will then be filled in and you'll have a solid. There will be some fragmented planes in the upper surface if you want to clean those up.

I did try them one by one, the 3 I indicated wouldn't fillet here. but anyway, thanks for the workaround!

Hello,

I think your model is racked by .0003" on Z, perhaps when you performed the offset operations your lines were not zeroed on the Z axis so it's causing your fillets to fail later in the model. I did a quick recreation of the model making sure my lines were zeroed on the Z axis and the fillet operations worked just fine.

Here's my take on the repair.
Separate the top piece.


Hide everything else, then flatten it.


Unhide all, select everything, run the "Join" command and "Fillet" the edges.

Yeah I had been thinking something was misaligned by some small amount there which is probably what is giving the filleter more difficulty. When you see a "flat" snap being engaged on something that should be flat (like Scooter shows above), it means it was not actually all quite flat. And if you do the reverse and try to stretch it out vertically rather than flatten it, some edges on the inside circular hole that get stretched out so it seems that it's probably those edges are on a bit different z level than the actual plane surface. I had taken a close look at your outer outline before and that one looked fine if I remember (meaning no flat snap engaged on it so it was already flat).

Anyway, I'm also able to repeat over here that once the top face is separated out and trued up to be totally flat and rejoined back in the fillets go ok after that.
