This was very helpful for me, I understand the process much better now. Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a elaborate answer Michael.

A couple of followup questions if you dont mind:

1. In the documentation I found something called Variable Fillet. However I can seem to be able to activate this in the Trial version I use, is it disabled?

2. About ViaCAD. I found that alot of people have been writing about 'Autodesk 123d'. From what I understand it a free software and by the looks of, at least this video below it seems it does a pretty good job filleting. Is ViaCAD to prefer before Autodesk 123d ?

Hi blindfoldjump,

It's enabled in the v3 trial version, you need to set up a new fillet set and pick some points on the edges to define the locations for where to use the alternate fillet radius, there's an example video here:

Also see here for some written explanation of what the video is showing:

Yeah it's another good choice - I can't remember if there are some special limits to the free version like "not for commercial use" or limited file format import support or things like that.

It's certainly looking into as well.

Hi,
I'm using Autodesk Fusion 360 and it's a good tool for the "recalcitrant" fillet.
In MoI, Just export your model in SAT and load it into Fusion.
Create fillets and what you want and export it in SAT.
Open it in MoI, that's all !
