I've just exported a STP file to SW and all was okay except for one little surface which SW healed without a problem.

We'd have to have a closer look at the problem file before and after you export it, most likely Michael will ask for them via email if they're confidential.

Hi Ronald, it's really hard to guess at what the problem might be, it's probably something specific to the particular geometry in the file. I'd need to be able to see the file and try testing it with a variety of other applications over here to get any clue as to what SolidWorks does not like in it.

So like Danny writes above, I'd need to see the file (preferably in original 3DM format) in order to give you any information on what's going wrong. If you need to keep the file confidential please e-mail it to me at moi@moi3d.com, and if it's very large you may need to use a file sharing service like Dropbox to host the file and then send me a link rather than directly attaching the file.

If I remember right, SolidWorks does have a 3DM importer so it's possible using 3DM format may work better.

Just in case someone else runs into this problem in the future:

With some pointers from Michael I managed to export the objects without Solidworks complaining as an *.x_t file with the "Solidworks" preset in Rhino.
