Hi Michael,

I'm modelling something that requires a mixture of metric and imperial components, I'm modelling with metric units and when wanting an imperial unit I input something like 0.438" however when using a math function, e.g. 0.438"/2 MoI is not happy and just sits there with a vague look ;) any ideas?

Hi Danny - sorry that type of alternate units along with an expression is not supported currently.

You can use an alternate units designator at the end of typed in input, like 5.3" but it only works with a direct number as the input and not an expression that has to be evaluated.

That would probably not be too difficult to add in v4, to support alternate units for an expression as well just as long as the alternate units declaration came at the end of the whole expression and not mixed into the middle of it, so you would put 0.438/2" . That does not work currently but I can make that type work in v4 I think.

Trying to make sense of a units symbol right in the middle of an expression would probably be difficult.

- Michael
