Is there a way to sync shortcuts or expor/import them easily?

I've setup Moi3D to mirror my Lightwave shortcuts-- makes for a ridiculously fast workflow! Thanks for that!!

And, I have a work version and a home version and wanted to know the best way to sync shortcuts. Copy/pasting the relevant Moi.ini parts is quite a chore. Hoping there's an easier way.

Hi Chipp, well shortcuts are stored in the moi.ini file - you can just copy the entire moi.ini file from one machine to the other machine and that will bring over all settings including the shortcut definitions. Just copying the entire file over should be easier than editing individual sections of the file.

You can find where the moi.ini file is located by going to Options > General > "Edit .ini file" button, that will pop up a dialog box that will tell you where the moi.ini file is located at.

Thanks Michael,

For some reason, it didn't like it when I did it the first time. I suspect it may had something to do with licensing. Funny thing is, MoI crashed my Mac hard and it took 2 reboots to get back up-- so I figured I ought not to *replace* the whole file. I'll try again. Much appreciated!

FWIW, it would be nice to be able to *assign* the path for the moi.ini file. That way I could put it in my Dropbox folder and it when it updated, it would be used by both my machines.

Hmmm, well the license key is not supposed to have anything to do with moi.ini - it's stored in a separate file alongside moi.ini ...

Well a crash like that is definitely odd but I doubt it has much to do with copying over top of moi.ini . Let me know if you continue to run into things like that.

Hi Chipp,

You can make that happen if you give moi.exe a command line parameter that has the full path to the moi.ini file that you want to use.

On the Mac the place to set the parameter is kind of hidden, see this previous post for a description for how to set it:

Hi chipp, the double boot after a crash is normally related to a corrupted cache so it needs two reboots to rebuild it. One to detect the faulty cache, and then on the next boot OS x knows to flush and rebuild it.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the tip. It's a bit more complicated so I created a video to show exactly how to 'redirect' MoI to a new moi.ini file location:
