Hi Manuel, sorry no as far as I remember there isn't any script available to do that kind of object distribution.

When this comes up it makes me wonder about how it should be measured, what is it specifically that you would be trying to make an even distance would it be the distance between the bounding boxes that go around the objects? Or something like the closest point distance between any part of the objects, or something else?

Hi Michael,

yes it should be evenly distributed by the bounding box center. Sorry my english isn't that good so please take a look at the examples.

This feature is from illustrator and I can image this being a part of the align tools in the future:

Thank you

Hi Manuel, the part that has always seemed kind of strange to me about that type of arrangement just based on bounding box center is that it's very easy for the objects to collide into one another.

For example, here I did a test with Illustrator with this set of objects doing a horizontal distribute:

The result does not really seem to have much "even-ness" about it - the objects have different amounts of space between their outer boundaries and some of them even overlap over each other.

It's a kind of imprecise arrangement mechanism and that makes it a bit of an odd fit in a CAD program which tends to have more of a focus on accuracy and precision tools.

@ Michael

First of all thanks for your time and reply!

And yes that's true in this case.

But maybe sometimes intersection of the objects is desired (for boolean). This feature would also be handy in some other situations.

For example adjusting points in a curve. I know this could be done manually, but a simple click is faster ;)

@ PILOU

thank you very much. I'll give it a try. But i'd like a one click solution ;)
