Try running MoI with elevated privileges by right clicking on the icon for it and choosing "Run as administrator" - does it work then?

By default the CustomUI wants to write files into sub-folders inside of MoI's installation folder, but also by default in Windows 7 programs are prevented from changing things under the \Program Files folder as a security measure.

It's possible to edit the CustomUI setup to write stuff somewhere else or also you can set MoI to run as administrator on startup by right-clicking the shortcut used to start it and going to Properties > Compatibility tab > check "Run this program as an administrator" at the bottom.

CustomUI should work even without administrator rights. There are only two addons which writes files to MoI folder: Obj.Library and Snapshot. Other extensions should work perfectly. You can change the default Object Library folder by editing \ui\customui\mods\ObjLibrary.cfg.htm file.

Hi BurrMan
CustomUi doesn't use records in moi's ini file anymore. Now it uses moi.filesystem.getUIDir() function.

Hi matur61, if you're not seeing anything different in the UI then it means that the CommandBar.htm file must not have been replaced - when you install the CustomUI you need to let it overwrite one file to get the changed UI.

You might try unzipping it into some other folder like your desktop first and then moving the files over instead of trying to unzip it directly. Whatever you are using for unzipping may not be allowed to make changes into the \Program Files folders.
