Just a follow up from the save as .ai files with Moi for Inkscape. Michael pointed out that Moi saves .ai files as version 8 and Inkscape only opens version 9. The link takes you to a small Open source program that converts your Moi .ai file to a scalable svg file that Inkscape can open.
