Connecting lines in a trace of an imported image

Newbie here. I just downloaded MoI and I'm playing around with it for the first time (after reading most of the manual and watching a number of tutorials). I've imported an image I'd like to recreate in MoI and have been able to trace it with a series of line segments that appear to result in a closed curve (I can extrude it). I've selected all of the segments and named them as a single object, and can make all the segments visible or invisible by toggling the visibility icon in the Browser, but when I click on the curve, only the segment I've clicked on is selected, and it can be dragged away from the rest of the curve. To select the whole thing I have to select each one individually or drag select. I tried unioning them together but that had no effect. Is this just they way it is for curves made from multiple segments, or is there a way to join them together as one? Thanks.

Hi Involute, welcome to MoI and to the forum!

You can use the Edit > Join command to glue end-to-end touching segments into a longer connected curve that will select all as one unit.

Basically the Extrude command will automatically do a join of the curves you input into it anyway but it can be convenient for object management and such to join them directly.

The Join command is located here on the Edit palette:

Also re: "I tried unioning them together but that had no effect."

The boolean functions are basically expecting for things to get cut with one another with some chunks of things being removed, if you have things that are touching end to end (or edge-to-edge for surfaces) rather than more sort of punching through each other, use Edit > Join instead of boolean union.
