Michael,

I tried scaling in top view but as the end of the ribs are not in the same plane as the target point, I could not get it to work.

The Orient, line-to-line worked great. Job done.

Thanks very much.

Gunter

Hi Gunter, normally when you pick several points in the Top view, the point picking system will keep them all on the same plane by projecting any snap points down to the plane of your first point pick.

That normally deals with problems like you are describing... There will be different behavior however if you pick points in the 3D viewport, so make sure all the points you pick in this case were all in the Top view.

Or have you possibly disabled the option to keep things planar when drawing in 2D views? That's a setting under Options > Snaps > Object snap options > "Project to plane in ortho views". By default it's on so that drawing in a 2D view keeps the picked points to be all planar to one another, projecting any snapped points as needed. But if you've turned that setting off then that won't happen.

Hi Michael,

I checked and the "Project to plane in ortho views" is on. I'm really happy to have learnt the the 'Orient - line/line' tool you pointed out - worked great.

Thanks much,
Gunter
