Tentacle curve

This curve was created using spirals and lots of blends.
Place a polygon with a side matching the two points of the tentacle curve, then do array circular.

Some of them can hold hands.
Left and right handedness allowed.
Polygons of 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 were tried.
There is still some "lumpy-ness. Not sure how to remove it. Need some curve smoothing script?

Sweep for the arms, Nsided (with some temporary vertical extrusions built in between the arms to do NSided between) for the central hub, then some trimming and blends to improve the arm/hub transition a bit.

I came across "polyskelion," "pentaskelion," and found some equations.

Lots of examples: http://benice-equation.blogspot.com/

Equations: http://math.stackexchange.com/questions/651772/parametric-equations-and-specifications-of-a-triskelion-triple-spiral

Will try to do a script...
