Hi Arian, it looks like you're making very good progress there! This is definitely a better type of approach.
That is not a bad way to create a fillet if the regular fillet tool is not working.
If you want some feedback on why that particular fillet you show in the screenshot did not work, please post the 3DM model file (or e-mail it to me at moi@moi3d.com if you want to keep it private) so I can take a more detailed look at your object and see if I can offer any further tips.
It's hard for me to give very good feedback based only on a screenshot, but my best guess is that it's related to these areas here having some little pieces of geometry:
MoI's filleter will not work properly if the fillet would need to totally consume away some existing edges or entire faces of the model and it looks like that will probably happen there unless you use a pretty small fillet radius.
Ciao Pilou!
Thank you very much
Yes...it should be that one :)
My goal is to take an idea from that caliper...not to reproduce 100% identical :)
This is my third model with Moi so it still difficult to me to reproduce everything because i'm learning the program and i'm fighting with fillet....but thanks to this fight...i'm learning the right approach to draw with Moi3d and i'm learning something new...and i'm happy of it :)
My goal is to produce the entire caliper....and maybe the brake disc too...entirely on Moi...without using any other 3d program for fillet....i want to use only Moi3d :)
I often do automotive rendering and often the 3d model are very accurated and nice about the exterior lines but sometimes the brake caliper and disc are really bad and of poor quality....so i'd love to have my 3d brake system to use it on my 3d rendering :) ....and Moi3d is helping me to realize it :)
Sorry for my english
Arian
Nice modelling for someone less than a week into Moi - You're doing great buddy, keep it coming and don't apologise for your english, your point is coming across just fine.
Thank you David!
Hope to post soon some other progress...
I want to complete the brake system, then rendering it and, with some times....do an animation with that :)
