Hi Mike, you can manage existing subscriptions with the spot Pilou writes above (Options > Thread subscriptions).
To subscribe to a particular thread, in the right-hand reading pane go all the way to the bottom and click "Edit thread options":
There's also a shortcut way for getting to the thread options as well, by clicking on this little space to the left of the thread title in the left-hand thread list section:
Anyway once you get to the "Edit thread options" screen you can change this setting to "subscribed". After you change the setting, make sure to scroll all the way down to the bottom of that page and hit the "Save" or "Submit" button in order for your change to actually be applied:
