Yup that's correct, if you purchase v2 now you will get a free upgrade to v3 when the final version comes out which won't be too much longer.

Sorry about the OT post, but I had a couple questions about V3 and licenses.

1. If I buy a V2 student license now, can I still upgrade to V3 for free when it comes out?
2. What's the difference between the student version and regular version? Are there any license restrictions? (e.g. can I still use it when I graduate, and what about upgrading to a new release from an older student version?)
3. Will there be a student version for v3?

Hi Dan ..

I can answer the first couple as Michael has pretty much answered these in the past ... If you buy V2 now you can upgrade to V3 when it comes out. The student and the pro versions are identical.

I am sure he will issue a V3 student version.

cheers,
eric

Hi Dan, yes just to make sure it's all clear:

> 1. If I buy a V2 student license now, can I still upgrade to V3 for free when it comes out?

Yes, any v2 purchase right now for any version including the student version will get a free upgrade to v3 when v3 comes out which won't be much longer.

The software is exactly the same between the student version and the regular version. The only difference of any kind is in the license agreement, but the difference there is about the student version license not being transferrable to someone else, not about how you use it. You can use the student version after you graduate, and you can also use the student version for commercial work either before or after you graduate.

You can upgrade to a new regular non-student version from a student version license, when getting an upgrade license any previous version license will be sufficient for the upgrade.

Yes.

Thanks, Eric and Michael. That's what I suspected but I wanted to be sure before buying.
