Blender GSOC 2014 NURBS Improvement

I don't know if anyone here is interested or as been following the development but for this years Google summer of code 2014 Jonathan deWard is improving Blender's built in NURBS handling and opening of 3dm files. Since this is a NURBS modeling community and MoI does use 3dm as native file format I thought this could be of interest to people here, as this could mean improved interoperability and a better companion application for MoI to produce renders with.

Perhaps people here who are interested can help by providing feedback, ideas, example files or perhaps give a try if/when there is a test build.

This is great news really! There is another report http://www.blendernation.com/2014/05/12/developer-meeting-notes-may-11-2014/ about Cycles being integrated in Rhino but nothing since then.

Yep, there have been some developments recently to make cycles into an external application, or standalone render.
I have not been keeping up with those news very closely but it opens up an opportunity to give other apps an external render engine to integrate.
